Samantha James Rowley

Let me introduce you to our newest addition. Samantha James Rowley was born Feb. 18th, at 1:37 am. She weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and 20" long. Definately the biggest of any of my babies. She has really long fingers and toes, but very little hair. She already loves to be held all the time which I really don't mind. Her sisters like that too. They fight over who gets to hold her the most. I have plenty of helpers :)!!

So I couldn't decide what pictures to post, so here are a bunch!!!

These next pictures are when we got her dressed to go home. It was right at shift change for my nurse, so it was probably the fastest discharge we have ever had. I think it took a total of 10 minutes to pack, change Samantha's clothes and sign the papers.

Question

Question for anyone that may know....
Do they make a baby laundry detergent for the high efficiency washers? I have been looking and haven't found any yet. If anyone knows, would you please let me know and if so, where do I find it? Thanks!

A Fun Visit!

Mom and Dad, you knew when I took this picture that I was going to post it on my blog......

Back in December when they released Mom from the hospital, I realized that I wouldn't get to see her until after my baby was born. This was very hard for me, but I was so happy for her to be home. Mom has talked about coming and helping me when the baby comes, but I am worried about her over doing it or getting sick or something else happening to her if she comes, so I have tried to make other plans.

Well, what do you do when your parents say they are coming and you can't tell them what to do....You accept it and enjoy the time you have to spend with them. Mom and Dad showed up last Tuesday after having a good checkup with the heart surgeon. The last time I had seen Mom, she still had IV's attached to her, we had just moved her out of ICU and were still helping her to the bathroom. To see Mom walk in my door looking as good as she did was just amazing. I put my arms around her and I think they went around three times. She is doing really well. Dad takes such good care of her and won't let her do dishes or anything. It was fun having him here taking care of me also. I really enjoyed their visit and learning how to cook without salt (which, yes, can be very yummy)! I'm looking forward to the day we can come to Koosharem for a visit! Love you Mom and Dad!

Winter's hit again!

I know it's not as much as some places, but it is still fun to see this much snow again. We had alot of snow melt this last week with the rain and warm weather. Now it feels like we are just starting into winter.

The main reason I wanted to make this post was to share about how awesome my neighbors are. With Jim's work schedule it has been hard for him to keep up with the shoveling of the snow. I was tempted to go shovel yesterday (because it is something I enjoy doing unless the snow plow has plowed us in) but one neighbor beat me to it with his snow blower. He has done it several times for us. I was very grateful. The snow let up a little bit through the evening and around 10:30 I was laying in bed and heard a motor running. I went and checked out the window and there was another neighbor boy who was snowblowing the drive. When I got up in the night I checked outside to see the snow and it was still snowing. By the time I had gotten out of bed this morning, the first neighbor had already cleared the drive again and had put the garbage cans out for me. What a humbling experience this has been. I have such great neighbors that are watching out for me and my family. It's also a lesson learned that I need to be better to my neighbors. I know these neighbors don't read my blog, but I want to say thanks to them anyway. My girls have already told me that we need to make Valentine treats to take to them.

The Cell Phone Saga.....

So, yes, I jumped to conclusions before we knew everything. In trying to locate the phone we decided that the customer service person we talked to the first time didn't know what was going on or something. We could get online and see the usage of both of our phones. My phone had all the calls that we had made, even in the last hour. Jim's phone showed that it hadn't been used since Saturday Evening. This led us to thinking that no one had used it the 8 times the customer service person had told us it had been used. Jim was going to try to call customer service again lastnight to get a different representative and get some better answers. Before he did though, our three year old discovered something for us. While laying face down on the couch with her face between the cushions she suddenly got very excited......"I see Daddy's phone!" I had to ask her what she said...."I see Daddy's phone!" "You do?" I asked. I then told her to get down and get it. Sure enough, there was Jim's phone. Right in the place we had already looked several times. Lexie was so excited about her discovery. She knew what a concern this was for us and with Jim needing his phone with his job. She jumped up and down yelling "YAAAA!" and was so excited to let her dad know that she had found it. So I guess I learned a lesson....Don't jump to any conclusions until you have all the answers. Cell Phone Saga over!

Frustrated!

Ok, so lastnight Jim went to use his cell phone and realized that he had lost it. We searched the whole house and even asked Lexie several times if she knew where it was. Jim remembered putting it in his pocket when we went to church, so he went over to the church lastnight to see if it was there. He called our Bishop to see if he had seen it and our Bishop also talked with the other Bishops that go to our building to see if they had one turned into them. No luck. With us being the first ward out of three in the building I thought for sure whoever found it would have turned it in to lost and found or something. As we were getting ready for bed it hit me that someone could be using it. (Yes, it took me a while to think that someone might actually keep it for themselves and use it.) Jim used my cell phone and called customer service. Come to find out there had been 8 phone calls made from it since Jim had used it last. Good thing it was the weekend. The customer service person wouldn't give us the phone numbers that were being called so we couldn't tell if this person was actually calling numbers in the phone book to find who the phone belonged to or if it was for their own personal use. For now Jim's phone is suspended. Hopefully we can track it down this week! Frustrating!!!!!
