The 4th in Koosharem

There's nothing quite like celebrating the 4th in a small town!
***
The neighbor had a fishing boat for sale.  Brindley asked him if we could borrow it and make a float out of it for the parade. The girls did a great job decorating it and loved every minuted of being in the parade.  They even got an award for float!

Without Grandma and Grandpa they couldn't have pulled it off!

Lining up for the parade. Notice our ribbon on the front!  YEAH!
After the parade there is always games, food and fun! And LOTS of catching up with family and friends. A rainstorm came through later in the afternoon.  Samantha and her buddy Jessica (cousin) ran and played in the rain together then dug in the sand...They definitely knew how to enjoy themselves.

It has been several years since we have been to Koosharem for the 4th.  So glad we could go!

Here's what I think...

Ok, So I agree with all of you.  I sometimes get concerned about the safety of my kids, but that isn't my biggest reason for going private.  The reason I have stayed public is the same as some of you.  I leave it public for my parents.  It is easier access for them to see what we are up to and to see pictures of the kids.  I also like the idea of sharing the gospel (which I haven't done much). One of my friends has a family blog that has many links to gospel pages.  On her sidebar her family picture links up to The Proclamation on the Family.  She has many other links like that.  I love it!

My BIGGEST Reasons for going private (which may be more childish) are:
1. Those people that want to read MY blog...then exclude me from their's.  I'm ok with them being private. That's their choice.  I don't know how else to say it.  I just don't feel like I need to share stuff with them if they won't share with me....like I said, Childish, I know!
2. Another reason is that some of those closest to me have read things in my blog then used those things against me.  Comments have been said to me that have been hurtful. My blog is something I use to lift me up. If you are going to take the things that I post on my blog and knock me down, then you don't need to read it.
3. With having the food blog, that is very public, I wonder about those that check my food blog then find my family blog. I guess this is where keeping my kids safe comes into it.

Anyway, those are some of my main reasons.  Still haven't decided yet what to do. If I do go private I will let you know before I do.
