I have some Questions.

Samantha crawled in bed with me this morning, snuggled up to me and said, "I have some questions."
I said, "Ok", and the conversation went like this:
Samantha: How did the Chicken cross the road?
Mom: I don't know.
Samantha: It flapped it's wings!
M: HeHeHe
S: How did the Kitty cross the road?
M: I don't know.
S: It flapped it's wings!
M: Kitty's don't have wings!
S: Uh Huh!  How did the Plane cross the road?
M: I don't know.
S: It flapped it's wings!
M: HAHAHAHAHA
S: Do you have any Jokes?
M: Hmm, No.
S: Now do you?
M: No
S: Now do you?
M: How did the Chicken cross the road?
S: It flapped it's wings!
M: HeHeHeHe! (I continue giggling at her cute comments)
S: Hey, I'm laughing! (refering to it being her turn to laugh at my jokes, not me laughing at how cute she is!)

She keeps me smilin'! I Love when she uses big words that she doesn't really know what they mean!

6 YEARS Old Weighing in At 34 LBS!

We have been blessed to have our Lexie Rose in our family for 6 years now! Seriously, where as the time gone. I get so emotional just thinking of her and what she has brought to our family. She is an amazing little girl. She has more knowledge and understanding about things than I do. She has an amazing Testimony about Jesus and "Why he died for us". She is so determined to do the right that she gets frustrated when others don't. She loves to make others happy..especially me. She is always asking if I am happy...Then she gets excited if she makes me smile and laugh. I Love her Hugs and will take them for as long as I can get them!
Love You Alexis Rose! Happy 6th Birthday!

Babysitting or Being a Dad?

I just have to ask, When Dad is left home with the kids do you call it babysitting? If you do, WHY?
Jim and I have chuckled several times over the last few days with some comments that have been said to him. I spent about 25 hours away from home this last weekend. Jim was home with the girls...being dad! Whenever Jim talked to someone after I had gotten back home, they would ask questions or say things like, "Did you survive?" "I heard you had a crazy weekend?" "I heard you had to BABY SIT!"
SERIOUSLY?!!
Jim's weekend was the same as it always is other than I wasn't there. There wasn't anything out of the ordinary that happened. The kids played and did their same old things...just like they do when Jim and I are both home. They ate food just like they do when Jim and I are both home. They don't miss Mom because Dad is there. It makes me really chuckle because Jim travels alot and is gone for several nights in a row leaving me with the kids....hmmm, "Kristi, I heard you had to baby sit...Did you survive?" I hope you can get a chuckle out of this idea too.
*******
If people really knew Jim, they would know why he doesn't babysit....I love the relationship Jim has with each of his daughters. He is a friend/pal/buddy and DAD to them. For sure not a BABYSITTER. Jim helps with dinner more times than not. He does dishes...infact once the dishwasher is full, if there are still dirty dishes, he will wash the rest by hand. He chooses what Iron we have and the Ironing board is his...because he does the Ironing! Yes, he even Irons my clothes. Not that I don't know how to, he just does it better! So ofcourse if he irons, he can do laundry. He folds clothes better than any body I have seen. Evenly folded and stacked. He can CLEAN too! One of my first memories of Jim...back when I was in High School, he came to visit his aunt and uncle whom I was working for in their cafe. He spent several hours in that cafe one day just cleaning and scrubbing....I know he stayed in there just to be with me ;). Jim helps the girls with their homework....even if I am the smarter one (hehe). He puts them to bed quite a bit and has probably bathed them more than I have. And we will just say, Dad's the fun one around here. Somehow he can get the kids to help clean...just by turning on music so loud that no one can hear each other....and the cleaning gets done! He never has to rearrange his non-work schedule because that schedule is being a Dad. Sometimes he has to rearrange his Dad schedule so I can have a spouse!
I seriously don't know how I lucked out...maybe it was when he cleaned the cafe and I knew then that I wasn't letting him get away! So, just incase you were wondering, Jim doesn't BABYSIT...He doesn't HIRE out either!
If you were one of those that asked him a question relating to the babysitting subject, please see the humor in this post. I don't mean to offend anyone!

Beach Days at Lake Tahoe/Summer 2011

Cave Rock with Suz and Ryan.

Some how Lexie got out of the house in a swimsuit that was probably 3 sizes too big! But it worked for her!

Nevada Beach
We actually found a day to go that Jim could go with us. The girls love when Dad comes! He plays in the sand with them.
One of them likes to hang in the shade with Mom!

Sand Harbor
At the beach with friends...

Any one watch the show H20? My girls love it. It's about girls who are mermaids! Lex is pretending to be one of them.
We love the beach. Definately didn't go as often as we should have.

Karissa's 9th Birthday!

To my beautiful 9 year old! You are AMAZING!
You are loved by sooo many. To prove it, Aunt Suz and Uncle Ryan came to visit you. It was a total surprise to you that they came.

Blowing out 9 candles now! WOW!
You get along so well with who ever you are playing with. I always hear from so many parents that their kids always say that they like playing with you. You are so good with little kids too. You make them happy and are their friend. ALL of your younger boy cousins love to play with you because you take the time to pay attention to them and do things they want to do. You are such a good example to all of your cousins, friends, and family. I Love you and am so Thankful that you are My Karissa Anne!

I'm Sentimental and Nostalgic and I Love to Reminisce

6 years tonight....same day, same date....lot's of memories.
One of my biggest trials I have experienced began.
I gained an overwhelming testimony of my Savior and that he will carry my burdens for me.
I am so blessed to have my beautiful Lexie Lou!
And even as I am typing this, she is bringing me breakfast that she made.....on a tray with a flower!
